MAINTAINING A STEADFAST SPIRIT – AGAINST ALL ODDS
Dear friend, I do not know what you have been through, going through or what you are about to go through. But what I do know is that, there is a living God – A God who loves you beyond measure, Who neither slumber nor sleep, Who watches over His words to perform, Who is faithful even when we are not faithful. This same God will carry you through.
Do not be weary, do not faint, stand firm and hold on to Him. Even when your knees feel wobbly, please HOLD ON! Even when you feel like giving up STILL HOLD ON! Even when the situation seems futile, CONTINUE TO HOLD ON! Against all the ODDS of this life, may the Holy Spirit help us to maintain a Steadfast Spirit.
Will your anchor hold in the storms of life, When the clouds unfold their wings of strife?
When the strong tides lift, and the cables strain, Will your anchor drift or firm remain?
We have an anchor that keeps the soul, Steadfast and sure while the billows roll,
Fastened to the Rock which cannot move, Grounded firm and deep in the Saviour’s love.
God bless you!
HIS WAYS AND NOT YOURS
We must come to a point where we are broken before the Lord and are willing to allow Him to have his way in our lives. Our faith must be built up to a point where we have absolute trust in our God. When you trust God, you will continue to trust Him in all circumstances. Job 23:10b (AMP) says ‘‘When He has tried me; I shall come forth as refined gold [pure and luminous]’’.After all, he has promised to be there with us all the way.
2When you pass through the waters, I will be with you, and through the rivers, they will not overwhelm you. When you walk through the fire, you will not be burned or scorched, nor will the flame kindle upon you.
One of the scriptures that always serve as a challenge to me is
12 Blessed is the one who perseveres under trial because, having stood the test, that person will receive the crown of life that the Lord has promised to those who love him (NIV).
12Blessed (happy, to be envied) is the man who is patient under trial and stands up under temptation, for when he has stood the test and been approved, he will receive [the victor’s] crown of life which God has promised to those who love Him (AMP).
May the good Lord help us to lay aside our wills and be humble and broken before Him. May he open our eyes of understanding as we learn to trust Him fully and take one day at a time trusting He will bring us to an expected end.
God bless you!
